This paper considers the problems of control of an electropneumatic servodrive for translational positioning task. A simplified model of the rodless cylindrical actuator system controlled by proportional valve is given. The classical approach to position control of pneumatic drives is based on the linearization of the nonlinear dynamic of the system around the desired set point. The control strategy with the state feedback controller has been used. A simulation example which gives the comparison of system behavior with a state feedback controller and classical PID controller has been made.
