SI Engine Load Torque Estimator Based on Adaptive Kalman Filter
Hrvatski patentni glasnik, Vol. 14, No. 2, Patentni broj PK200402222007The term "Estimation of Load Torque of an Otto Engine Based on an Adaptive Kalman Filter" refers to the control of internal combustion engines, and according to the international classification (IPC), it is classified as: F02D 39/02. The invention estimates the torque of a spark-ignition internal combustion engine by measuring the air pressure signal in the intake manifold and the engine's rotational speed. The load torque is estimated using an adaptive Kalman filter. The input signals to the filter are the reconstructed signal of the developed torque and the engine's rotational speed. The filter consists of a basic Kalman filter and an algorithm for detecting sudden changes in load torque. The basic Kalman filter ensures high estimation accuracy in stationary states and during slow changes in load torque, with a low noise level. The sudden load torque change detection algorithm calculates the cumulative sum of the prediction error of the basic Kalman filter's speed; if this sum exceeds a pre-set level, the basic Kalman filter's gains are temporarily increased. This allows the estimator to quickly respond to sudden load changes without increasing the noise level. Ottov motor; estimator; moment tereta; adaptivni Kalmanov filtar
